Nursing Care Insurance Fund – Total coverage for any situation

Daily routine is usually regarded as normal – until everything changes. Often, older age, an illness or a disability cause “normal” things of life to become insurmountable obstacles. The nursing care insurance does not only support people who are no longer able to cope with their daily routine but also their relatives. When becoming a member of BKK vor Ort you are automatically insured with the Nursing Care Insurance Fund.

Every member that has paid contributions for at least two years, or has been family insured during the same period, is entitled to services of the nursing care insurance. A person is considered in need of nursing care if he or she needs help with daily things of life for at least six months:

• Personal hygiene (e.g. washing, showering, bathing, dental hygiene, combing, shaving, urination and defecation)
• Nutrition (Preparing meals and food ingestion)
• Mobility (e.g. getting up, going to sleep, dressing and undressing, walking, standing, walking up the stairs, leaving and returning to home)
• Housekeeping care (e.g. shopping, cleaning of the flat, doing laundry) The range and the amount of benefits paid by the nursing care insurance depend on the individual care level.
